Introducing: Tome Tokens!

We are preparing to launch the next phase in our journey to define a new business model for social networks: the Tome Token! It will be the way that you buy and sell customizations in the Tome Marketplace.

What are Tome Tokens?

Tome Tokens are the virtual currency of Tome and there are ways to purchase or earn Tome Tokens.

Purchasing Tome Tokens:

• Users with the Tome Keeper subscription will get an allowance stipend of tokens each month.

Earning Tome Tokens:

• You can sell badges in the marketplace and get a percentage of the profit.

• [🛠️ coming soon]: You can receive awards on your posts, and receive tokens based on the value of the award.

Tome Tokens are not yet redeemable for real money, but we are exploring and researching the fairest (and legally compliant) way to exchange Tome Tokens. We are inspired by the the Roblox Developer Exchange program and aspire to follow a similar path towards enabling cashing out.

Why Tome Tokens

We hope to make Tome the most fun, customizable social platform on the internet. We want to empower the creative expertise of all our users by allowing the uploading of media to personalize their Tome experience. While doing so, we want to make sure that everyone is rewarded for what they create. Taking a page out of in-game currencies, we’ve created the Tome Token to facilitate easier exchange.

It’s important to us that everyone can use Tome, regardless of their financial status. Having a virtual currency allows anyone to get awarded from the posts they make or content they contribute to the Tome Marketplace.

This is a momentous step for us, as we embark on our quest to create a community-first social platform, without ads or data capture practices. Our team is excited to be working towards this goal, with the mission of supporting creative expression and a uniquely customizable experience, all without ever gating essential features for using (or even enjoying) Tome.
